2012 dates for PLAN'd Getaways are May 10-13, 2012 and October 11-14, 2012!
PLANCTX, Inc. is very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a second year grant of $60,000 by the Robert V. Miller Fund for 2011! The fund, established by Sharon and Jerry Miller in memory of their late son, Robert, is administered by the Austin Community Foundation. Thank you so much, Sharon and Jerry Miller and all of your RVM Fund Advisory Board Members and Your Hundreds of Supporters! We love collaborating with you all! Thank you MariBen Ramsey of the Austin Community Foundation for connecting our two non-profit organizations!
Last year's sponsored activities made SO many peers happy and brought them increased quality of life! Families are also very thankful to the RVM Fund for the respite they receive! And, staff and Board members plus our many wonderful volunteers have a blast at all our activities for peers! It is truly "win-win" situation all the way around!

Funds granted to PLANCTX will be used to offset the annual membership fee for the first year for 75 families by way of a cost-share plan: $20 from the family and $80 from the grant for the $100 annual membership fee. Among many benefits, PLANCTX Membership offers all clients free access to one of two monthly Peer Socials now greatly enhanced in quality by this generous RVM Fund grant. One monthly social is designed with the interests of more Mature Peers in mind, while the other one is geared toward activities Younger Peers enjoy. And to top it all off, the RVM Fund pays for two "PLAN'd Getaways" which are really all expense paid "vacations" for 40 lucky peers in 2011!
Once again, from May 10-13, 2012, 20 Young Peers will be having an absolute blast in Gonzales, Texas at the beautiful Disciple Oaks Retreat Center while their loved ones may elect to also join in the fun, at their own expense (and prices are very reasonable), or enjoy their own special respite time. PLANCTX Board Vice President Liz Shelby, who has much experience with setting up and managing fun adventures of this nature will be the "Camp Director," joined by four on duty PLANCTX Care Managers, and a host of volunteers associated with Girl and Boy Scouts. The 20 slots per PLAN'd Getaway are going fast; first come, first served!
